The Butterfly People

These one-of-a-kind fiber sculptures honor the spirit of the elderly. Each unique piece houses knowledge, energy, love, wisdom, and compassion. Much of the material used to create these figures is old and used, but like the generations preceding us, is still valuable and has much to offer. Souls sing with insights and fly to new and finer places. Just think what we all have to look forward to…… Materials used in these constructions may include: wood, old and new fabrics, important and unimportant beads and odds and ends, but will always include love, painstaking work, forgotten dreams, memories, and unfulfilled intentions. It has been my intention to retain the flavor of the elderly hunched figure, yet enhance the essence with true treasures from the past – outer wrappings of the human spirit.
