A very dear friend of mine was dying of breast cancer. I wanted to create a piece representing serenity and strength, qualities that became more evident in her as her illness progressed. There also occurred a very touching dynamic between her, as her hair began falling out, and her young daughter. And so the child figure was also born. These pieces can sit or hang on the wall. They are made from clay, fabric, and beads.
